About the Ride

ReidRide began in 2009 with 280 people riding across Wayne County, Indiana, with each registration paying for a pair of shoes for a local child in need.

In the years since, we've had nearly 7,000 participants riding 122,478 miles. Thanks to the community's help, ReidRide has raised $400,000 in corporate partnerships and $318,917 in registrations and donations.

With the help of our amazing riders we welcomed 315 riders on August 20th and 101 rode our NEW 30 mile route. Riders and donors alike make ReidRide possible. If you missed your chance to ride this year save the date for 2023: AUGUST 19TH 2023. We also want to thank our corporate partner Hill's Pet Nutrition for winning the ReidRide challenge by raising $915 for Shoes for Kids!

Supporting Kids in Need

"Shoes for Kids" Program

As a result of support generated from ReidRide, the "Shoes for Kids" program evolved. Shoes for Kids provides tennis shoes for area school-age kids in need. Throughout the years Shoes for Kid has provided thousands of pairs of shoes.

To provide the area with these shoes, we partner with local agencies such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County, Amigos, and Girls Inc. Other organizations who have supported Shoes for Kids include local Auxiliary groups, Religious organizations, and School systems that have a need.

In 2022, Sharrie Harlin Davis, Reid Health's Community Engagement Manager, has begun helping the foundation with organizing and scheduling shoe distributions. This combined effort will create a larger reach, providing more area kids in need with a new pair of shoes.

Help us do more! Remember, every $20 buys a pair of shoes for a local child. You can help by donating to the Shoes for Kids program today. Interested in volunteering at a shoe distribution? Click the button below to request more information on how you can help.
